Plan your weekend.

Out of town guests, say it with us: You are not going to a Washington, DC wedding.

Read that sentence again. Morais Vineyards is an hour and a half from the city, with no public transportation from city-to-venue. We’ve chosen historic Manaas as our home base, with shuttles transporting guests to-and-from the wedding. Please use this page as your go-to guide for planning your weekend.

We chose Tru Hotel because it’s closest to downtown Manassas and the venue. However, there is a cluster of hotels—including a Hilton Garden Inn, Wyndham Garden, and Comfort Suites on the north side of the city, near the battlefield.

Hotels in Warrenton, VA

If you plan to drive separately and wish to be closer to the venue, you might stay in Warrenton, VA. Warrenton is a 15-minute drive from Morais, with accommodations including the Airlie and a Hampton Inn.

Transportation between DC and Manassas

Planning to visit DC? If you booked a rental car, it’s best to return it before heading to the city. If you didn’t book a rental car, you can take the Amtrak or the Manassas Line on the VRE from the Manassas train station straight into Union Station, L’Enfant Plaza DC, or the Alexandria metro station (roughy a one-hour ride). Note: The VRE only operates on weekdays (not weekends).

Transportation to explore Manassas

Are there Ubers in Manassas? Sure. Are they plentiful? Not really.

If you’re flying in from out of town, you might consider booking a rental car so you can visit wineries, breweries, and downtown Manassas. (Note: The hotel is not walking distance to bars and restaurants.)

Transportation from the airport to DC

Both airpots (IAD and DCA) connect to the city via the metro. From Dulles, you can take the Silver line to the city (roughly a one hour ride) while DCA is just a 15 minute ride on the Yellow line.

BOOK YOUR FLIGHT

Dulles vs. DCA

Dulles International Airport (IAD)

36 minute drive to Tru Hotel

IAD is roughly 30 minutes from Manassas. You can either rent a car or take an Uber for roughly $50. If you plan to head to the city, you can take the Silver Line on the metro (an hour ride).

Washington National (DCA)

50 minute drive to Tru Hotel

DCA is roughly an hour drive to Manassas. However, it’s just across the river from the city if you plan to explore DC (just 15 minutes on the metro or a 10-minute cab ride).

Pro tip: Iowa guests, Cedar Rapids has a direct flight to DCA.
